When Thulani Ngcobo entered a competition for an all-expenses-paid trip around South Africa to try and break the World record for most games attended during a World Cup, little did he know that he would be travelling over 10,000 miles by road and air and watching over 30 games in the space of 4 weeks.

To break the record the 29 year old football fanatic had to become the Last Fan Standing and watch at least 21 full matches. Games didn’t count if he arrived late or before the game finished so he had to watch the full 90 minutes but that became tricky at the later stages when games were played at the same time.
During the tournament Thulani smashed the previous world record of 20 games by watching 30 full matches and another 7 games where he had to leave early to get to another game. In total he watched over 3,400 minutes of football.
Well done Thulani.
